William F. "Bill" Chasteen, 71, of Moweaqua, died September 13, 2017, in his home.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Bill was born February 21, 1946 in Kinmundy, IL, the son of Morris and Blanche (Thompson) Chasteen. He married Donna Mulvaney February 21, 1964 in Patoka, IL. She survives.

Bill was retired from Caterpillar, Inc., where he worked for 30 years. He played softball with the Blue Blazers for many years and loved to tinker with lawn mowers. He dearly loved his granddaughter, Torey; she was the light of his life.

Surviving are his wife, Donna; son, Donald Chasteen of Decatur, IL; daughter, Missy Hoffman of Moweaqua, IL; granddaughter, Torey Hoffman of Moweaqua, IL and sister, Alice (Larry) Torgler of Winter Haven, FL.

Preceding him in death are his parents, three brothers, two sisters, one sister-in-law, and son-in-law, Frank Hoffman.
