Wanda Lee Brown, 83, of Springfield, MO, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Mercy Hospital; surrounded by her family. Wanda's unparalleled strength and determination allowed her to survive a 9-year battle with pancreatic cancer after initially being told she only had 3-6 months to live.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Monday, March 31, 2014 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua, IL.

A private family service will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption, IL.

Wanda was born in Peoria, IL on October 19, 1930 to the late Wesley Miller and the late Sylvia Baker-Miller. She worked at General Electric and then at Illinois Power, during which time she lived in Moweaqua, Illinois and then Decatur, Illinois until she retired in 1992. Soon after retiring, she moved to Springfield, MO where she remained until her recent passing.

Wanda's children, grandchildren, family and friends were her true loves. Her passions were cooking, antiques and her beloved dogs Gizmo and Cody. She was loved by all who met her and opened her home to all. This treasured mother, grandmother, and friend left an indelible mark on our lives and will remain forever loved and remembered.

Wanda is survived by her half-brothers: Ronnie Miller and Dickie Miller; by her two children: Daughter Dianna Green of Oxford, FL and Son, Charles (Chad) Nicholls of Springfield, MO; and is also survived by her seven (7) grandchildren and ten (10) great-grandchildren.

Wanda is preceded in death by her husband Clyde Brown and son Gilbert Gene Giles.
