Vivian C. Kiesecoms Wendling, 94, of Assumption, IL died October 29, 2013 in Pana Community Hospital, Pana, IL.

Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, November 2, 2013 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption, IL.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time, in Seitz Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption, IL.

Full Military Honors by Tacusah Post 6577 VFW of Assumption, IL.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.

Vivian was born July 8, 1919 in Assumption, IL the daughter of Phillip "Philly" and Bertha (Varanken) Kiesecoms. She married Carl M. Wendling in Chicago, IL January 28, 1950. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2003.

Vivian graduated from Assumption High School in 1938. In 1941, she graduated from Huber Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She was a life time member of VFW Post 99 of Decatur, IL, and also a life time member of American Legion Post 284 of Assumption, IL.

Vivian proudly served in the US Army Nurse Corp during WW II as a 1st Lieutenant; serving from 1943-1946. She was stationed in Rouen, France with 167th General Hospital, in 1944, for 1 year.

Surviving are her son Robert and wife Cathy Wendling of Bath, NC; grandchildren: Luke Wendling of Austin, TX, and Brooke Constanza of NY,NY.

Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, and brother Robert.
