Virginia R. Lawler, 82, of Assumption, died March 4, 2024 in her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2024 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.  Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption.  Memorials may be made to National Kidney Foundation or American Diabetes Association.

Virginia was born on January 31, 1942 in Lake City, IL, the daughter of Orville and Jessie (Dinger) Auten.  She married David K. Lawler, Sr. on February 13, 1960 in Decatur, IL.  He preceded her in death on July 28, 2017.

Virginia was a former member of Fame Evangelical Church.  She loved gardening, bowling and living life to its fullest.

Surviving are her sons: David K. Lawler, Jr. of Decatur, IL, John H. Lawler of Joliet, IL, and Robert (Tina) Lawler of Salisbury, NC; daughters: Marchelle (Ronald) Lawler of Decatur, IL, Tina Rajagopalan and Rosalee Lawler , both of Assumption, IL; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Virgil (Paula) Auten of Galatin, TN; and sisters: Doris Lewis of Litchfield, IL, Barbara (Darrell) Conder of Chapel Hill, TN, Susan Creek of Decatur, IL, and Brenda (Fred) Boggs of Eau Claire, WI.

Preceding her in death are her husband, David; son, Randy; parents; two brothers; and six sisters.
