Vincent "Vinnie" H. Zuber, 87, of Assumption, died December 12, 2023 in his home.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2023 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Assumption.  Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 17, 2023, also in the church.  Burial, with full military honors, will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Assumption.  Memorials may be made to ACPA (for the Pollinator Garden) or St. Mary's Catholic Church, both in Assumption.

Vinnie was born on October 30, 1936 in Ste. Marie, IL, the son of Frank A. and Bernadette (Maginn) Zuber.  He married June Keller on August 19, 1961 in Ste. Marie, IL.  She survives.

Vinnie proudly served in the United States Army with the 7th Calvary Regiment in Bamberg, Germany. He was a former math teacher, teaching for over thirty years in the St. Thomas School in Newton, IL,  Assumption, and Central A&M school districts. Vinnie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Assumption, AEA (Assumption Education Association), NEA (National Education Association) and the Knights of Columbus Council #1026, as a Third-Degree member. He served on the St. Mary's Parish Council as well as the CAM Foundation.  Vinnie enjoyed maintaining the Pollinator Garden, golfing, fishing and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife, June; children: Ron (Ellen) Zuber of Decatur, IL, Michael (Melissa) Zuber, Tom (Lynn) Zuber, Pam (John) Vidmar, Mark Zuber, all of Assumption, IL, Steve (Lori) Zuber of Kirkwood, MO, and Bob Zuber of Chicago, IL; grandchildren: Brittany, Bret, Isaac, Taylor, Johnny, Abby, Lexi, and Vito; great-grandchildren: Raeleigh, Brooklyn, and Sienna; and sister, Gloria Schwartz of Belleville, IL.

Preceding him in death are his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
