Valerie A. Bickel, 63, of Moweaqua, died August 14, 2017 in her home.

Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2017 in Jacobs Cemetery, Moweaqua. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2017, in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Christian County Animal Shelter.

Valerie was born February 18, 1954 in Champaign, IL, the daughter of John T. and Kathleen (Hintz) Schumacher. She was formerly married to Joe Oschwald and Dan O'Neill. She later married Stephen Bickel.

Valerie was a homemaker and loved the farm. She enjoyed caring for her plants, flowers and animals.

Surviving are her mother, Kathleen; son, Luke O'Neill of Tower Hill, IL; daughter, Sarah O'Neill of Nashville, TN; brother, Scott (Iris) Schumacher of Marietta, GA; and sisters: Vicki Schumacher of Champaign, IL and Vanessa (Gary) Schumacher Sabo of Hilton Head, SC.

Preceding her in death are her father, John T. Schumacher, husband, Dan O'Neill and ex-husband, Stephen Bickel.
