Thurman Andrew "Drew" Bush, 87, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 4, 1937, in Tazewell County, Virginia, Thurman was the eldest child of Blaine Bush and Etta Faye Joyce. He grew up alongside his beloved siblings, Henrietta, Jackie, and Wade. From an early age, Thurman was known for his quiet strength, deep intellect, work ethic, and dedication to his family and country.

Thurman proudly served in the United States AirForce as a Loadmaster, a role that took him across the globe and instilled in him a lifelong commitment to precision and service. After his honorable discharge, he pursued his passion for knowledge by earning a master's degree in chemistry from Virginia Tech in 1974.

His professional career included teaching, advisory positions, guest lectures, and software development at UBS and InStream, where he eventually retired. After retiring, Thurman started writing a book about his experiences, envisioning the title, "A Life Beyond Belief."

He is survived by his sisters, Henrietta and Jackie; his children, Renie and Blaine; his stepchildren, Tammy, Kevin, and Eric; his grandchildren, Kristan, Marlee, Braden, Isaac, Zane, Chaz, Elizabeth, and Roman; and his great-grandchildren, Ethan, Lucas, and Jax. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn, and his brother, Wade.
