Stephen D. Mott, 71, of Assumption, died November 1, 2023 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2023 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption.  Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00, prior to service time.  Casual attire is requested.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gift of Hope or OSF St. Francis LVAD Unit.

Stephen was born on March 29, 1952 in Metropolis, IL, the son of Francis J. and Markena (Brian) Mott.  He married Suzie K. Stout on August 8, 1988 in Decatur, IL.  She survives.

Stephen was an avid bowler and Nascar fan. He was a former volunteer for the Moweaqua Fire Department, an auto mechanic and a Jack Daniels collector.  He and his wife, Suzie, owned and operated TMT DJ Service from 1989 – 2012.  During those years they accumulated a large following and many friends.  Stephen has continued to serve others by being a Gift of Hope donor.

Surviving is his wife, Suzie; daughters: Tami Hazlet of Litchfield, IL and Tina (Jeremy) Himegarner of Yates City, IL; and grandchildren: Parris, Pantara and Tony Mathes, and Kinzie and Peyton Himegarner.

Preceding him in death are his parents.
