Shirley J. Cox, 93, of Moweaqua, died February 17, 2025 in Mt. Zion Health & Rehab Center.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2025 in Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Decatur, IL.  A private burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, Moweaqua, IL.  Memorials may be made to Moweaqua Food Pantry.

Shirley was born on April 20, 1931, in Sumner, IL, the daughter of John Smith and Edna (Slunaker) Provines.  She married M. Keith Cox on May 7, 1952 in Sumner, IL.  He preceded her in death on December 5, 2009.

Shirley was a lifelong Christian and a homemaker.

Surviving are her son, Alan (Michele) Cox of Moweaqua, IL; daughters: Carole (Jim) Parsons of Bethany, IL and Marilyn (David) Keim of Decatur, IL; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and sister, Savannah Hickey of Greenville, IL.

Preceding her in death are her husband; parents; two brothers: Bill and Pete; and one great-granddaughter.
