Shirley M. Berner, 80, of Owaneco, IL, passed away peacefully, October 16, 2016 in Springfield Memorial Hospital with her family at her side.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption, IL. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016, also in the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Shirley was born February 23, 1936 in Mattoon, IL the daughter of Leverett and Velma (Fitzpatrick) Hardy. She married Carl "Al" Berner April 19, 1958 in Assumption. He preceded her in death June 30, 2015.

Surviving is her daughter, Linda (Rich) Dossett of Oreana, IL; sons: Mike (Marla) Berner of Pana, IL and Larry (Sue) Berner of Tower Hill, IL; grandchildren: Craig (Sarah) Berner, Matt (Kayla) Berner, Blake (Lacey) Berner, LeAnn (Nick DeVore) Dossett and Brian Dossett; step-grandchildren: Larry (Leslie) Farris and Becky Stinson; great-grandchildren: Mason DeVore and Cruze Berner; step-great-grandchildren: Lucas Stinson, Cody and Bailey Farris; sisters: Norma Eversole of Shelbyville, IL and Della (Doug) Roberts of Decatur, IL; and brother, Dean (Jackie) Hardy of Shelbyville, IL.

Preceding her in death is her husband and parents.
