Sharon I. Denton, 78, of Moweaqua, died November 23, 2021 in her home.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., prior to service time.  Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery, Moweaqua.  Memorials may be made to The Family of Sharon Denton or DMH Cancer Care Institute.

Sharon was born on July 10, 1943 in Pana, IL, the daughter of Halden and Geraldine "Geri" (Stevens) Schinzler, Sr.  She married her high school sweetheart, Gene E. Denton on August 25, 1961 in Moweaqua.  He preceded her in death on June 27, 2017.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, cheering on the Cardinals, gambling and golfing.

Throughout the years, visitors were always welcome at Sharon's house for coffee, conversation and food. Thank you to the caregivers, both family and friends, that made it possible for this to continue to the end. She cherished every visit, card, box of Hostess Ding Dongs and Jeff Davis pie.

Surviving are her sons: Tracy (Mary) Denton of Decatur, IL, Troy (Anna) Denton of Moweaqua, IL and Todney (Christa) Denton of Decatur, IL.; grandchildren: Ann, Tom, Mikayla, McKenna, Nadine, Nicole, Anastasia, Naomi and Savannah; great-grandchildren: Isaac, Ivan and Ary; brothers: Hal (Mary) Schinzler of Decatur, IL and Merlin (Sue) Schinzler of Auburn, IL; brother-in-law, John (Reva) Denton of Moweaqua, IL; and sister-in-law, Linda Houchins of Moweaqua, IL.

Preceding her in death are her husband and parents.
