Ruth M. McElwee, 102, of Pana, died March 9, 2020 in Prairie Rose Health Care Center, Pana, IL.

Private graveside services will be Sunday, March 22, 2020 in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption, IL.  Memorials may be made to Pana Community Hospital or Donor's Choice.

Ruth was born October 19, 1917 in Westervelt, IL, the daughter of Frank and Alma (Baker) Hoke.  She married Donald M. McElwee in 1937; he preceded her in death in 1986.

Ruth was a member of the Presbyterian church, The Order of the Eastern Star, Shelby County Home Extension and United Methodist Women. Ruth was a former nursing home volunteer and worked in the insurance industry for many years.

Surviving are her son, Steven McElwee of Pana, IL and daughter, Stephanie Alpaugh of Temple Terrace, FL.

Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, one brother, three sisters and daughter, Jennifer Rendahl.
