DATELINE: ASSUMPTION

Rudolph V. "Rudy" Endrizzi, 87, of Assumption passed away August 31, 2014, in his home.

Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption.

Visitation will from 9:00 AM until service time, also in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption.

Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery, Harristown, IL, with Full Military Rites.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project.

Rudy was born December 28, 1926 in Decatur, IL, the son of Martin and Mary (Rosetto) Endrizzi. He married Elizabeth Vaughn, who preceded him in death. He later married Beverly Cochran in Taylorville, October 28, 1983. She survives.

Rudy proudly served his country in the United States Army, during WWII, in the South Pacific and Korea. He was a member of VFW Tacusah Post 6577, American Legion Post 284 and a member of the Honor Guard. He had the opportunity to be an honored guest of the Central Illinois Honor Flight.

Rudy was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church of Assumption. He always fulfilled his duty as provider, working several jobs at a time most of his life, slowing down just before retiring from Borden Chemical and Jones Meat Market.

Surviving is his wife Beverly; sons: Aubie (Barbara) Endrizzi of Decatur,IL, Shane (Janice) Endrizzi of Decatur, IL and Paul Cochran of Assumption,IL ; Daughters: Amber Endrizzi of Decatur, IL, Cindy (Kenny) Crawford of Owaneco, IL, Laura (Dave) Allen of Assumption, IL and Lisa Turner of Gulf Shores, AL; brother Martin Endrizzi of Decatur, IL; sister Grace Schroat of Decatur, IL and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents and wife Elizabeth.

Final note, our dad turned his back on the Devil and faced the Son.
