Robert E. McLain, 83, of Moweaqua died December 3, 2013 in St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2013 at Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua.

Visitation will be one hour before service time.

Burial will be in Westside Cemetery, Moweaqua immediately following services.

There will be full military honors provided by Moweaqua American Legion Post #370.

Bob was born December 29, 1929 in Sandoval, IL the son of Otis and Opal (Thompson) McLain. He married Mary Agnes Sims in Moweaqua, April 6, 1953. She preceded him in death July 29, 2001.

Bob attended the First Christian Church of Moweaqua. He served in the United States Army in Korea. He was retired from Caterpillar where he worked as a heavy equipment driver. After retirement he continued to work in his garage doing small engine repair, a life-long avocation.

Surviving are: his sons Robert (Rhonda) McLain of Assumption and Edward McLain of Moweaqua; daughters: Rosanna McLain of Moweaqua, Mary (Terry) Reatherford of Moweaqua, and Shirley Ariazi also of Moweaqua; five grandchildren Michael (Katy) McLain, Brad (Brooke) Reatherford, Cara McLain (Jared) Blaudow, Wes (Brittany) Reatherford and Angelina Ariazi; eight great-grandchildren; sisters Norma (Gerald) Ringo of Moweaqua and Joan (Paul) Short of Decatur; brothers Jim (Carole) McLain of Moweaqua and Leon (Betty) McLain of Decatur.; and sister-in-law Mary Lou McLain of Macon. He is also survived by his friend and companion, Pauline Boerman.

Preceding him in death are his parents, wife and brother John McLain.

Bob was a life-long resident of Moweaqua and the family requests memorials in support of the Moweaqua Lions Club, Moweaqua American Legion Post #370 or CAMP (Central A & M Promoters).
