Robert, served in the navy for two years and went on to school to become a Biology teacher. "Coach," as so many knew him, coached basketball, baseball, and track, and he also announced at the football games for Moweaqua High School. He taught his athletes the value of hard work and working together as a team. He loved teaching Biology and made it fun to learn. He was so much more than a teacher, wanting to instill values and life lessons in his students.

Robert loved people. He loved having garage sales, traveling, attending athletic events for his grandson, and pretty much anything that gave him an opportunity to meet people. When Robert moved to the retirement home, one of his favorite things was getting visitors. Whether it was his kids and grandkids, neighbors, friends, or former students, he would light up like a Christmas tree, (which he also loved immensely), when they walked in. He never wanted the visit to end. He loved the simple things and that simple joy was part of his charm.

It was an amazing honor to be with him as he took his last breath here on earth and his first breath up in Heaven. While it was difficult to let him go, knowing he is with Jesus and his beloved wife lessens the pain. In his passing, Robert had one final Biology lesson to teach. He donated his body to science. I can only imagine the advancements that will be made because of him and his family is incredibly proud of him. We love you so much, Bob. Until we meet again in Heaven ....

Psalms 23:1-6
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
