Robert D. Dorsey, 90, of Moweaqua, passed away May 25, 2019, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019 in First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua.  Visitation will be from 11:00 – 1:00, prior to service time, also in the church.  Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery, Moweaqua.  Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Window Project or Moweaqua Food Pantry.

Robert was born January 6, 1929, in Moweaqua, IL, the son of Erville and Ruth (Proctor) Dorsey.  He married Marcella Morrell June 11, 1950 in Moweaqua.  She survives.

Robert was a member of First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua, a volunteer fireman for 25 years and served as Moweaqua Township Road Commissioner for 28 years.  He was owner and operator of Dorsey's Excavating.

Surviving is his wife Marcella; sons: Robert (Laura) Dorsey of Moweaqua, IL, Scott Dorsey of Unicoi, TN and Brent (Gayla) Dorsey of Moweaqua, IL; grandchildren: Michelle Houchins, Ryan Dorsey, Amanda Hancock, Chase Tolly and Brogan Tolly; six great-grandchildren; and half-sisters: Judy Hall of Clinton, IL and Sandra (Edgar) Meldohl of Florida.

Preceding him in death are his parents and son, Steven Dorsey.
