Richard "Dick" L. Brown, 84, of Moweaqua, died December 11, 2023 in HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital, Shelbyville, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2023 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua.  Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 17, 2023, also in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden, IL.  Memorials may be made to Decatur Trail Riders.

Dick was born on May 8, 1939 in Decatur, IL, the son of Elza and Dorothy (Cline) Brown.  He married Emily Ann Oldfield on July 30, 1960 in Decatur, IL.  She survives.

Dick was a member of the National Barrel Horse Association and American Quarter Horse Association.  He formerly worked as a plumber and pipefitter.

Surviving are his wife, Emily Ann; daughters: Sherri Lynn Porter of Decatur, IL, Christina (Clarence) Cushing of Witt, IL, Theresa (Bill Bailey) McKnight of Texas, and Cynthia (Ron) Bailey of Arizona; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, David (Karen) Brown of Monticello, IL; and sister, Judy Newby of Oklahoma.

Preceding him in death are his parents and sister, Jean Gladwell.
