DATELINE: ASSUMPTION

Randall V. Peck, 71, of Assumption died February 28, 2014 at home.

Services will be 11:00 am Friday, March 7, 2014 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption.

Burial will be in Camp Butler Cemetery, with Full Military Honors.

Memorials may be made to Assumption Veterans Memorial and VFW National Home for Children.

Randall was born July 1, 1942 in Phoenicia, NY the son of Charles and Genevieve (Barley) Peck. He was delivered at home by his father.

Randall attended grade school in a three room school house in Phoenicia, NY and finished school at Ontera Central in Roxbury, NY.

Randall was drafted into the United States Army and during his time of service he received several medals including the Air Medal with 11th Oak leaf Cluster and V Device for Heroic actions above & beyond the call of duty.

Randall was a lifetime member of VFW Post 10641, National Rifle Association, National Hunting Association and ABATE Motorcycle Club. Randall contributed to John Cochran Hospital, Barnes-Jewish Children's Hospital, VFW National Home for Children, St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Help & Hope for Soldiers Returning Home from War.

Surviving are his sons, Vincent (Brenda) Peck of Assumption, Rodney Peck and fiancé Sara Christian of Taylorville, Stephen (Chanel) Peck of Taylorville; daughter Madeline (Danny) Lowis of Taylorville; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; brothers, Alfred (Marge) Peck of Shandaken, NY and George Peck of Haines City, FL. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
