R. Sue McKenzie, 82, of Decatur, died March 26, 2024, in Decatur, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024 in South Shores Christian Church, Decatur, IL, with a visitation beginning one hour prior to service time.  Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption, IL. Memorials may be made to South Shores Christian Church.

Sue was born on January 9, 1942 in Moweaqua, IL, the daughter of Merle and Alice (Smart) Beard.  She married Ronald J. McKenzie on October 1, 1964 in Decatur, IL.  He preceded her in death on December 28, 2002.

Sue was a member of South Shores Christian Church.  She worked as a nurse until marriage, at that time she dedicated her time to raising her family.

Surviving are her children: Laurie (Greg) Gosda, Susan McKenzie, and John (Julie) McKenzie, all of Decatur, IL; and grandchildren: Ryan Gosda and Ashton McKenzie.

Preceding her in death are her husband and parents.
