Patty L. Collins, 81, of Decatur, died July 13, 2016, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Westside Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials may be made to Scovill Zoo.

Patty was born November 18, 1934 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Clifford and Dorothy (Porter) Daniels. She married James Thomas Collins, Sr. October 18, 1953 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death July 12, 2000.

Patty was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Decatur and Illinois Bell Pioneers. She was retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company, where she worked as a telephone operator.

Surviving is her son, James T. (Barb) Collins, Jr. of Macon, IL; daughter, Lynn (Bruce) Connelley of Oreana, IL; grandchildren, Kristy (Matt) Schmahl of Decatur, Daniel (Erin) Collins of Decatur and Phillip (Cheryl) Connelley of Savoy; great grandchildren, Alex, Branden, Alaina, Jordan and Ava; brothers, Walter D. (Linda) Hughes of Macon and Jim (Susan) Hughes of Marion, IN, sister, Rose Curtis of Decatur, IL, half- brother, Ed (Mary) Daniels of Salem, IL and half-sister, Linda Daniels.

Patty's greatest joys were her family, her beloved cat "Elvis" and her beautiful flower gardens.

Preceding her in death are her parents and step-father, Walter R. Hughes.
