Orville E. Rhodes, 85, of Assumption, died December 26, 2015, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2015 in St. Mary's Catholic Church of Assumption. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Assumption with Full Military Rites by the Assumption Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association.

Orville was born September 13, 1930 in Pana, IL, the son of Herschel E. and Bernis L. (Wilson) Rhodes. He married Betty Skinner November 19, 1953 in Morrisonville, IL. She survives.

Orville was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Assumption. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and later worked for Caterpillar Inc., retiring after 33 years. After retirement, he worked for the Central A&M School District, as a school bus driver.

Surviving is his wife, Betty; son, Paul (Tonda) Rhodes of Pana, IL; daughters: Cathleen Jermaine, Karen (Joseph) Gould and Mary (Rick) Bradshaw, all of Assumption, IL; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Patricia (Bill) Taylor of Camden, NY.

Preceding him in death are his parents, brother, Herschel and one grandson.
