Maxine Marcella Hemer, 101, of Moweaqua died December 20, 2014, in the home of her daughter.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua.

Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service time.

Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery, Moweaqua.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua.

Maxine was born September 29, 1913, in Moweaqua, the daughter of James and Emma (Duzan) Humphrey. She married Wayne H. Hemer in St. Charles, MO., September 11, 1941. He preceded her in death November 17, 1996.

Maxine was the owner of her own beauty salon in Findlay, Illinois before marrying Wayne and moving back to Moweaqua. She and her husband, Wayne owned Hemer Fertilizer Company in Moweaqua. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua and a member of The Order of the Eastern Star for 59 years. Maxine enjoyed the many activities that being a member of South Side Country Club provided. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. Maxine also took pleasure in helping decorate her daughter's first grade classroom for many years. She was a very caring and loving grandmother to her only grandchild Nikki.

Surviving are her daughter Patricia and her husband Ed Krug, granddaughter Nicole "Nikki" Krug and loyal and helpful friend Arnetta Niemuth all of Moweaqua.

Preceding her in death are her husband, parents and sister, Hyacinth Wempen.
