Mary Carol Elias, 77, of Buffalo Grove, formerly of Moweaqua, died January 12, 2021.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2021 in Masonic Cemetery, Moweaqua, IL.

Mary was born on May 16, 1944 in Moweaqua, IL, the daughter of Harold Kenneth and Mary Agnes Elizabeth (Pribble) Federman.  She married David Elias on March 24, 1985.  He preceded her in death on October 15, 2007.

Mary was a graduate of  Moweaqua High School and Eastern Illinois University.  She taught elementary school in Tinley Park for three years and retired from Diamond Lake School in Mundelein in 2003, after teaching for thirty-five years in that district.  Mary worked another ten years as a substitute teacher before finally leaving the education field.  In addition to her teaching career, Mary was a roadie and driver for her husband who was a musician and entertainer.

Mary had a strong belief in God and will be missed by many at Crosspoint and Prince of Peace Lutheran churches.

Surviving are her sister, Ann Kunz, sixteen nieces and nephews, twelve great-nieces and nephews and numerous great-great-nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, brother, Charles Federman, sister-in-law, Martha Federman and sister, Barbara Federman.
