Mary Ellen Drysdale, 91 of Blue Mound, died April 13, 2023 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 16, 2023 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua, with Rev. Sally Hamon officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Blue Mound.  Memorials may be made to Blue Mound Fire Department.

Mary Ellen was born on July 5, 1931, in rural Blue Mound, IL, the daughter of Andrew C. and June K. (Damery) Usinger.  She graduated from Blue Mound High School in 1949 and married Carl C. Drysdale, Jr. on August 8, 1950 in Decatur, IL.  Mary Ellen worked side by side with her husband on the family farm, hauling grain and driving the tractors to work the ground.  She was also a homemaker and a wonderful mother to four daughters.  She was a member of Zion Chapel United Methodist Church and Osbernville Home Extension.  Mary Ellen loved to garden, cook, can, sew, play cards, and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.

Surviving are her daughters: Susie Atchason, Debbie (Tom) Fallbacher, Janice (Gary) Jackson all of Decatur, and Cheryl (Tom) Covington of Stonington, IL; sister, Nancy Seitz of Moweaqua, IL; grandchildren: Kyle Atchason, Kevin (Dawana) Atchason, Cory Atchason, Jenny (Mike) Dawson Sheehy, Joni (Fred) Hayes, Brian (Kelly) Dawson, Megan (Chase) Cocagne, and Matthew (Tiffany) Covington; step-grandchildren: Kolby (Amber) Jackson and Karli (Stefan) Salzano; ten great-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her husband; parents; son-in-law, Terry Atchason; and brother, Wayne Usinger.

Mary Ellen was a loving wife, mom, grandma and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
