Mary Ann Bierman, 87, of Wheeler, IL, died April 2, 2026 in HSHS St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Island Grove, IL. Visitation will take place from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, and again one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, all at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Island Grove. Memorials may be made to St. Isidore Catholic Church.

Mary Ann was born on August 29, 1938 in Sigel, IL, the daughter of Clarence C. and Anna P. (Hoene) Bushur.  She married James A. Bierman on August 20, 1958 in Sigel, IL.  He survives.

Mary Ann was a faithful and active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Island Grove, IL, serving on the St. Isidore Ladies Sodality and the Church Committee Art & Environment. She was a proud member of the Jasper County Home Extension for 30 years and spent several years as a 4-H leader, sharing her time and talents with others. Mary Ann found joy in quilting, crocheting, and painting, but most of all she enjoyed the time she spent loving and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, James; children: Don (Kathy) Bierman of Effingham, IL, Dennis (Jeanne) Bierman of Du Quoin, IL, Tom Bierman of Wheeler, IL, Tony (Gail) Bierman of Jewett, IL, Kathy (Craig) Collins of Assumption, IL, and Brian (Karen) Bierman of Wheeler, IL; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers: Richard Bushur of Watson, IL, Clarence (Paula) Bushur of Sigel, IL, and Gerard (Deb) Bushur of Sigel, IL; and sisters: Ruth Rauch of Newton, IL and Sister Kathleen Bushur of Naperville, IL.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Clarence and Anna Bushur; sister-in-law, Charlene Bushur; and brother-in-law, Harold Rauch.
