Marshall L. Van Fleet, 85, of Moweaqua died September 16, 2014 in Heartland Health Care Center, Decatur.

Memorial services will be 11:00 am Friday, September 19, 2014 in First United Methodist Church, Moweaqua. Casual attire is requested.

Burial will be in Graceland Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur.

Full Military Honors by American Legion Post #370 of Moweaqua.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua.

Marshall was born July 27, 1929, in Decatur, IL the son of William and Laura (Mackey) Van Fleet. He married Iona Clipston in Moweaqua, December 26, 1954. She survives.

Marshall was a member of First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua, Moweaqua American Legion Post # 370 and served 18 years as a scout master for the Boy Scouts of America in the Joliet, Illinois area. Marshall was retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers, as a civilian. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

Surviving is his wife Iona; sons: Michael L. Van Fleet of Wilmington, IL, David M. Van Fleet and Tom Van Fleet both of Decatur, IL; daughters: Lori J. Van Fleet of Wilmington, IL, Judy E. (Anthony) Savantano of Phoenix, AZ and Lisa A. (Frank) Van Fleet of Clarkson, MO; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister Ellen (Ed) Howard of San Antonio, TX; sisters-in-law: Joan Gerlach of Winterville, NC , Mary Ann Pfister of Keller, TX and Sharon Clipston of Moyock, NC.

Preceding him in death are his parents.
