Marion Joseph "Joe" Galvin, 77, of Assumption, died April 11, 2018 in his home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to service time. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Assumption. Memorials may be made to Assumption Woman's Club.

Joe was born May 14, 1940 in Taylorville, IL, the son of Marion and Mary (Barry) Galvin.

He was an auditor with the Department of Public Health and enjoyed music, traveling, water skiing and playing the piano. Joe loved the Bridge Club and enjoyed hosting parties at his home.

Surviving are his mother, Mary; his closest friend, Mark (Latisha) Demascal of Assumption, IL.; brothers, Charles W. Galvin of Taylorville, IL and James E. Galvin of Assumption, IL; and sisters, Joan Beamer of Nokomis, IL and Dorothy (Alan) McMaster of Leesburg, VA.

Preceding him in death is his father, Marion Galvin.

The family of Joe would like to thank Kristen Coy, Lauren Demascal and all other caregivers, nurses and doctors for their care during his illness.
