Marilyn J. Simon, 83, of Assumption, IL died November 19, 2013, in Lavender Ridge, Effingham, IL.

Services will be 2:00 pm Friday, November 22, 2013 in First United Methodist Church of Assumption, IL.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until service time.

Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption, IL.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Assumption and Assumption Public Library.

Marilyn was born June 16, 1930 in Mt. Sterling, IL. the daughter of William and Mabel (Woods) Feld. She married Samuel J. Simon in Mt. Sterling, IL February 1, 1951. He preceded her in death March 29, 2013.

Marilyn was a member of First United Methodist Church of Assumption, served on the Assumption Library Board and was a longtime bookkeeper for the Assumption COOP.
She graduated from Mt. Sterling High school and also Gem City Business College in Quincy, IL.

Surviving are her son Michael (Janet) Simon of Eugene, OR; daughter Rebecca DeClerck of Vandalia, IL; grandchildren: Abby (Brent) Bayles, Andy (Amber) DeClerck, Tim DeClerck and Molly DeClerck Keppler; great-grandchildren: Morgan Cripe, Ryan Bayles and Ethan Bayles and sister Nina Feld of Mt. Sterling, IL.

Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, four brothers and four sisters.
