Mae Hays, 83, of Moweaqua died April 8, 2017 in Moweaqua Rehabilitation & Health Care.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017, also in the funeral home. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials may be made to Moweaqua Fireman's Club.

Mae was born September 11, 1933 in McLeansboro, IL, the daughter of Fred M. and Macie (Taylor) Shuster. She married Robert F. Hays October 5, 1957 in Moweaqua. He preceded her in death July 29, 2014.

Mae was a member of First Christian Church of Moweaqua and Tacusah Chapter Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She was retired from Boland Electric Supply, where she had worked as a bookkeeper for 36 years.

Surviving is her son, Alan (Christy) Hays of Assumption, IL; daughter, Barbara Piraino of East Peoria, IL; grandchildren: Kyle and Mark Piraino of East Peoria, IL, Christopher (Emily) Howse of Bloomington, IL and Rachel (fiancé, Travis) Hays of Assumption, IL; great-grandchildren: Olivia, Avery and Logan Howse; brothers: Bob Shuster of Shelbyville, TN, Don (Evelyn) Shuster of Moweaqua, IL, Dean (Cecile) McPeak of Troy, IL, Val (Jan) McPeak of Fort Myers, FL and Curtis (Margie) McPeak of Dalton City, IL; sister Vickie (Lou) Egyud of Pittsburgh, PA.

Preceding her in death is her husband; parents, Fred and Marie Shuster and Tom and Macie Hester; brothers, Carl and Gary; sisters, Norma and Mary Jo and son-in-law, Jeff Piraino.
