M. Patricia Filchak, 92, of Moweaqua, died August 2, 2024 in her home.

Funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2024 in St. John's Episcopal Church, 130 W. Eldorado St., Decatur, IL.  Visitation will be from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., prior to service time. Burial will be in Adams-Gorden Cemetery, Moweaqua.  Memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church or Good Samaritan Inn.

Patricia was born on March 1, 1932 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of James and Charlotte (Luther) Johnson.  She married Mathias P. Filchak on April 5, 1951 in Taylorville, IL.  He preceded her in death in 2010.

Patricia was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church of Decatur.  She was retired from Illinois Bell, after working 35 years with the company. Patricia enjoyed volunteering at the Good Samaritan Inn, but her true calling was her families.

Surviving are her son, Matt (Carolyn) Filchak of Oakley, IL; daughters: Kathy Weider and Charla (Michael) Robb, all of Moweaqua; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Lance Filchak of Florida; and sisters-in-law: Kara Johnson of Illinois and Jane Johnson of Maryland.

Preceding her in death are her husband; parents ; son, John; daughter-in-law, Trudi; son-in-law, Doug; five brothers; and two sisters.
