Lyle H. Jordan, 89, of Assumption, died April 10, 2021 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021 in Locust Grove Church, Assumption, IL.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., prior to service time.  Please wear masks and practice social distancing.  Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Assumption, IL.  Memorials may be made to Locust Grove Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Lyle was born on November 1, 1931 in Moweaqua, IL, the son of James H. and Helen (Protsman) Jordan.

He married L. Jean Jesse on January 12, 1952 in Assumption, IL. They enjoyed 69 years of loving marriage. She survives.

Lyle was a member of Locust Grove Church.  He served as the National President of NSTRA, the President of Assumption School Board, and a 30-year member of Westervelt Insurance Company Board of Directors.  Lyle proudly served in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean War.  He was a lifelong farmer and avid quail hunter.  One of Lyle's favorite hobbies was attending all of his grandchildren's sporting and school events.

Surviving are his wife; sons: Wayne (Kay) Jordan of Moweaqua, IL, Charlie (Val) Jordan of Moweaqua, IL and Glen (Susie) Jordan of Assumption, IL; daughter, Kathy (Pat) Williams of Assumption, IL; grandchildren: Lindsay (Joe) Paradee, Lacy (Jeff) Althoff, Trent (Jackie) Jordan, Michael (Nancy) McVey, Mallory (Zac) Crites, Taylor (Drew) Jordan, Olivia Jordan, Ryan (Sarah) Jordan, Austin Jordan, Paige (Ross) Workman, Jordan Stoune, Courtney (Brian) Hiler and Chelbi (Sheldon) Williams; twenty four great-grandchildren; and brothers: Robert (Joan) Jordan of Moweaqua, IL and Warren (Sheila) Jordan of Pana, IL and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers: Ralph and Dale Jordan; granddaughter, Casey Williams and great-grandchildren: Gus Hiler and Harrison Workman.
