Lola Lower, 93, of Moweaqua, formerly of Pana, IL, passed away December 5, 2015, in her home.

Private family services will be held at Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Decatur and Macon County.

Lola was born August 24, 1922 in Rosamond, IL, the daughter of Floyd and Alma F. (Urshell) Rinehart. She married Merlyn E. Lower, Sr. in Shelbyville, IL April 27, 1946. . He preceded her in death February 12, 1997.

Lola and her husband, Merlyn, owned and operated Merlyn E. Lower General Insurance and Real Estate of Pana for over 40 years.

Those we love don't go away: they walk beside us every day.

Still loved, still missed and very dear.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Merlyn E. "Gene", Jr. (Joann) Lower of Moweaqua; daughter, Susan (James L.) Bates of Baton Rouge, LA; two grandchildren: Roger E. (Francine) Lower of Moweaqua and Gina J. (Brook) Kemball - Cook of Friendswood, TX; and five great-grandchildren: Sidney, Lucas, Sylvia, Savannah and Hunter.

The family would like to express a "special thanks" to her long term caregiver and friend, Juanita Goodrich

Preceding her in death are her husband, parents and sister, Virginia May Crum.
