DATELINE: ASSUMPTION

Lois C. Rowley, 98, of Assumption passed away October 27, 2014 in Regency Nursing Care, Springfield, IL.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2014 in First United Methodist Church, Assumption with visitation one hour before service time.

Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Assumption or Assumption Fire Department.

Lois was born June 18, 1916 in Assumption the daughter of Charles W. and Nettie (Hayward) Smith. She married E. Wayne Rowley in Assumption March 24, 1940. He preceded her in death December 25, 2004.

Lois was a member of First United Methodist Church of Assumption, Leader of Sunshine Girls 4-H Club and past member and President of Assumption Woman's Club. After retiring, Wayne and Lois spent their winters in Florida, where they made many wonderful friends.

Surviving is her son Rex (Jodie) Rowley of Sherman, IL; 4 step-grandchildren; nieces: Donna (Earl) Sleasman of Pittsburgh, PA, Debra (Bob) Johnston of Decatur, IL, and Marilyn Grubb of Tolono, IL.

Preceding her in death is her husband; parents; 2 sisters: Cleta Grubb Nichols and Zelma Breeding and nephew John Grubb.
