Leo "Lawrence" Steffen, 83, of Moweaqua, died November 16, 2019, in his home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 21, 2019 in First Baptist Church, Moweaqua.  Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua.  Burial will be in Westside Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Moweaqua or Moweaqua Food Pantry.

Lawrence was born October 29, 1936 in Effingham, IL, the son of Nicholas and Ella (Richards) Steffen.  He married Joyce Hooper in Decatur, IL April 15, 1956.  She survives.

Lawrence was a member of First Baptist Church of Moweaqua and a former member of Decatur Crappie Poppers. He was retired from Cash Valve and an avid golfer and bowler.

Surviving is his wife, Joyce; sons: Larry (Angie) Steffen of Moweaqua, IL and Jim Steffen of Springfield, IL; daughter, Ritha (Zip) Sirbaugh of Pana, IL; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brothers: Charles Steffen of Decatur, IL, Russell (Mary) Steffen of Lincoln, IL and Don (Cleta) Steffen, Sr. of Decatur, IL; and sisters: Dorothy Schwab of Decatur, IL and Ruth Steffen of Wisconsin.

Preceding him in death are his parents and two brothers.
