Leah M. "Gyp" Brackett, 92, of Assumption, died December 28, 2017 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials may be made to Assumption Public Library or American Cancer Society.

Leah was born March 26, 1925 in Assumption, IL, the daughter of William F. and Fannie (Landrith) Jones. She married Robert L. Brackett  August 28, 1946 in Anaheim, CA. He survives.

Leah was a member of Assumption Christian Church and Christian County Home Extension.

Surviving is her husband, Robert Sr.; sons: Robert L. (Cyndy Lammert) Brackett, Jr. of Champaign, IL and John Alan Brackett of Taylorville, IL; daughter, Jane M. Brackett of Assumption, IL: six grandchildren: four great-grandchildren; many nieces & nephews; and Kathy Brackett.

Preceding her in death are her parents; four brothers; one sister; and many half-brothers and sisters.
