Larry E. Gaither, 77, of Decatur, IL died March 17, 2018 in Imboden Creek Living Center, Decatur.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua. Visitation will be from 11:30 – 1:00, prior to service time. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials may be made to LaPlace United Methodist Church. The family request casual attire.

Larry was born May 19, 1940 in Moweaqua, IL the son of James H. and Alleen (Lamm) Gaither, Sr. He married Irma Sanders December 21, 1974 in Decatur. She survives.

Larry was a member of LaPlace United Methodist Church and Teamsters Local #279. He was retired from Transport Service Co., as a diesel mechanic. His favorite job was farming, which he finished up his last harvest in November 2017.

Surviving is his wife, Irma; daughters: Jackie (Roger) Perry and Judy (Les) Jenkins all of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Lindsay (JD) Behnke of Decatur, IL, Ryan (Bobbi) Perry of Loami, IL, Jessica Benton of Decatur, IL, Jared (Krista Schwartz) Perry of Mt. Zion, IL, Katie (Josh) Slaughterback of Franklin, IL, Jacob Sefton of Saint Paul, MN, Joe (Rebecca) Sefton of Mt. Zion, IL, Dawn (Kelly) Osborne, Decatur, IL, Tracy Verbiski of Mt. Zion, IL, Josh Jenkins of Decatur, IL and Brett Jenkins of Decatur, IL; twenty two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Barb (Dana) Grantham of Butler, IL, Nancy (Warren) Shaw of Decatur, IL, Mary Lou (Terry) Boles of Decatur, IL; and special cousin, Ray Jackson of Macon, IL.

Preceding him in death are his parents and brother, James H. Gaither, Jr.
