Kenneth Lyle "Speed" Moore, 88, of Moweaqua, entered his Heavenly Home May 11, 2017, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., with a one hour visitation prior to service time, Sunday, May 21, 2017 in Grace United Methodist Church, 901 N. Main St., Decatur, IL. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua, with a Masonic Rites service at 7 pm. Burial will be in Adams-Gorden Cemetery, Moweaqua, with Full Military Rites. Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois or American Red Cross.
Kenneth was born April 9, 1929 in Oconee, IL, the son of James Cleatice and Irene (Morrison) Moore. He married Emily Bright June 8, 1958 in Moweaqua. She survives.
Kenneth was a member of First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua and affiliated with Grace United Methodist Church of Decatur as well as Douglas Community United Methodist Church of Douglas, AK. Kenneth served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of American Legion Post #370 of Moweaqua and Clover Leaf Lodge #990 AF & AM of Herrick, IL. He worked for Mueller Company for 43 years. His family and his faith were very important to Kenneth, and he was a devoted son, husband, dad, and grandpa.
Surviving are his wife, Emily; son, James Kenneth (Donna) Moore of Moweaqua; daughter Pamela Jane Moore of Moweaqua; and grandson, Dr. Kenneth Adam Moore & Dr. Angela Kuo of Memphis, TN.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brother, Cecil Harold Moore and sister, Dorothy Evelyn Ruot.
