Judith "Judi"
A. Reid
Mar 19, 1942 — Nov 30, 2023
Assumption
Judith "Judi" Ann Reid, 81, of Assumption, died November 30, 2023 in her home.
Per the family's wishes, there will be no services. Memorials may be made to Assumption Community Pride, c/o Seitz Funeral Homes, 118 E. Main St., Moweaqua, IL, 62550.
Judi was born on March 19, 1942, the daughter of Wayne W. and Nellie "Ruth" (Mink) Stewart. She was formerly married to Keith Reid and together they had three children. Judi proudly served the Assumption area as a rural mail carrier for thirty-five years. She had the personal touch with all those she served.
Judi was an avid gardener and enjoyed planting flowers and vegetables every year. She was also an excellent seamstress and helped many people in the community with her skills. Judi was a lover of music and went to many concerts, including Bob Dylan, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash and even Metallica. This love of music was passed down to her kids and grandkids who all share this passion. She loved sports and enjoyed watching her grandkids play, but was not shy about voicing her opinion to the referees. Judi was also notorious for opening her presents immediately and not looking at who they were from. She rarely smiled in photos. Judi was a matter-of-fact, tell it like it is, woman. She did not mince words, and you always knew where you stood with her.
Judi loved traveling and took some memorable trips, including the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, the Bob Dylan Museum, the Cheers Bar in Boston, and Tybee Island.
Surviving are her daughters: Angela Damery of Assumption, IL and Wendy (Ted) Miller of Mattoon, IL; son, Eric Reid of Assumption, IL; grandchildren: Brent (Kelly) Damery, Bryce (Ashley) Damery, Zachary (Heather) Miller, Alex Damery and Zane Miller; great-grandchildren: Braxton, Cooper, Emely, Josalynn, and a great-granddaughter on the way; brother, John (Judy) Stewart of Assumption, IL; and sisters: Virginia Rannebarger of Des Moines, IA and Kay Kidd of Norfolk, VA.
Preceding her in death are her parents, two brothers, and one sister.
We will leave you with one of Judi's favorite sayings, "that's enough of that."
