Obituary

Joseph Lynn Hudson, 71, of New Haven, IN, formerly of Moweaqua, IL, died January 18, 2026 in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2026 in First Baptist Church, Moweaqua, IL, with a visitation beginning one hour prior to service time. A graveside service, with full military honors, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026 in Pleasasnt Hill Cemetery, Nortonville, KY.

In lieu of flowers, cards and memorials to assist in the care of Lynn's widow may be made to the Tonda Hudson Trust, c/o Sondra Middleton, 448 Dalgren Ave., Fort Wayne, IN, 46805.

Lynn was born on July 29, 1954 in Water Valley, MS, the son of William "Bill" and Betsy J. (Lakey) Hudson.  He married Tonda Lee Bowling on January 18, 1974 in Water Valley, MS.  She survives.

Lynn was a devoted member of Central Ministries of Fort Wayne, IN, and proudly served his country in the Army National Guard.  He ministered in the Baptist church for many years and was a respected businessman and HVAC Professor.  Lynn loved to sing and share his faith through dramatic Bible presentations.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Lynn will be fondly remembered for his storytelling—filled with humor, wisdom, and meaningful life lessons.

Surviving are his wife, Tonda; daughters: Sondra (Dan) Middleton of Fort Wayne, IN, Bethany (Brian) Franklin of Magnolia, AR, and Lori (Ben) Nelson of Moweaqua, IL; grandchildren: Ember Workman, Triston and Alaina Morse, Hailey, Jonathan, Izac and Zion Nelson; great-grandchild, Bailey Dickerson; and sister, Deborah Kim Hudson of Ocala, FL.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Bill and Betsy Hudson.
