John A. Weerts,63, of Moweaqua died December 23, 2013 in St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 28, 2013 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua, IL, with visitation two hours prior to service time.
Memorials may be given to Mackenzie Lang "Memorial Trust" at CEFCU Bank, Lincoln, IL.
John was born July 7, 1950 in Decatur, IL the son of J. Bernard and G. Lucile (Thomason) Weerts.
John was a member of First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1972, where he was a James Scholar. John currently worked for Kemmerer Village in Assumption, IL. He formerly worked for IGA in Charleston and Mattoon, IL.
Surviving are his daughter, Rachel Weerts of Monticello, IL: Granddaughter, Mackenzie Lang of Monticello, IL; sisters, Marsha (Larry) Daniel of Decatur, IL, and Anne (Mike) Noland of Willowbrook, IL.
Preceding him in death are his parents.
