James E. Lovell, 90, of Naples, FL, formerly of New Berlin, IL, died September 3, 2024 in AVOW Hospice House, Naples, FL.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2024 in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption.  Visitation will be from 11:00 – 12:00, prior to service time, in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption.

James was born on April 9, 1934 in New Berlin, IL, the son of Luther E. and Cora Mae (Milby) Lovell.

He served his country in the United States Army and was a truck driver for General Transfer for over forty years.

James was a  member of Lely Presbyterian Church of Naples, FL and an avid bowler and billiards player.  He loved John Deere tractors and could whistle and sing a sweet tune. James was known for his heart of gold. He was a wonderful son, brother and friend to all.

Surviving are his sister, Betty Lou (David) Bergschneider of New Berlin, IL; several nieces and nephews; and best friend, Diane Baglio.

Preceding him in death are his parents; sister, Virginia Lea Carlson; and brother-in-law, Richard Carlson.
