James E. Jordan, 90, of Moweaqua, died January 26, 2021 in his home.
Private funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2021 and may be viewed by joining the Moweaqua Sanner Chapel Facebook livestream. Public graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. in Locust Grove Cemetery, Assumption, IL. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua or The Family of Jim Jordan.
Jim was born on June 21, 1930 in Moweaqua, IL, the son of Horace W. and Stella (Cole) Jordan. He married Patty Wicklein on September 10, 1950 in Macon, IL. She survives.
Jim was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua. He served on multiple boards in the community and was very involved in raising money for the Shriner's Children's Hospital. He served the church and community with his talents of patience, being a good listener and serving faithfully and loyally. He was a role model for many whose lives connected with his life.
Jim worked at Mississippi Valley Structural Steel Co. for many years but his main and most loved profession was farming.
Surviving is his wife, Pat; children: Peggy (Steven) Ramsey of Tremont, IL, Stephen (Patty) Jordan of Moweaqua, IL, and Pam (Steve) Cougill of Charleston, IL; grandchildren: Steffany Whisenand, Shelley Nguyen, Perry (January) Jordan, Ross (Lauren) Jordan, Grant (Michelle) Cougill and Abby Cougill; eight great-grandchildren; sisters: Wanda Jacobs of Moweaqua, IL, Anna Armstrong of Decatur, IL, Elenor (Clyde) Veith of Bloomington, IL and Norma Dowd of Moweaqua, IL; and sister-in-law, Peg Gorden.
Preceding him in death are his parents.
