James Keith Brownback, 68, of Hillsboro died January 7, 2015 in Hillsboro Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Hillsboro, IL.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Monday, January 12, 2015 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption, IL

Per James wishes, burial at sea will be held at a later date.

James was born July 4, 1946 in Pana, IL the son of Harold Wayne and Emma Rose (Kraus) Brownback. He married Patricia D. Brown November 4, 1978, of that union, 2 daughters were born.

James was an U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed camping.

Surviving are his daughters: Carissa (Jon) Calloway of Sherman, IL and Andrea Brownback ( significant other Brian Forcum) of Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren: Aleah Wallis, Jace Wallis, Ethan Brownback, Alaina Calloway and Max Calloway; brothers: John Brownback of Chatham, IL, David (Judy) Brownback of Neoga, IL, Donnie (Carol) Brownback of Nokomis, IL, Michael (Barbara) Brownback of Pana, IL and Steven Brownback of Assumption, IL; sister Karen (Kenny) Ohl of Assumption, IL and sister-in-law Robin Brownback of Assumption, IL.

Preceding him in death are his parents and brother Jerry Brownback.
