DATELINE: ASSUMPTION

James A. Rowcliff Sr., 69, of Assumption, IL, died September 13, 2013, in his home, surrounded by family.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013, in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2013, in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption.

Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption, IL.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Jim was born August 14, 1944 in Fairbury, the son of Cyril and Hazel (Bull) Rowcliff. He married Carol Dawkins in Shelbyville, IL on December 21, 1966. She survives.

Jim was affiliated with Mt. Pleasant Church of God of Assumption. He and his wife Carol were foster parents to many children for 35 years. Jim was a farmer all of his life. He farmed for Don Kuhle Implement, retiring in 2007.

Surviving are his wife, children: Shelia (Kenny) Nix, of Oklahoma City, OK, Chris (Mike) Jenkins of Assumption, Ricky (Amanda) Anderson, of Assumption, James (Denise) Rowcliff of Assumption, Lisa Rowcliff of Decatur,IL, Vernon (Sabrina) Rowcliff of Assumption, Angel (Herb) Palmer of Assumption, Jackie Brownback and Brett of Macon, IL, Anthony (Tanya) Rowcliff of Kincaid, IL, Jason (Melissa) Rowcliff of Macon, IL, Tori (Michael ) Breeden of Melvin, IL, and Stephanie Rowcliff at home, 22 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, mother; Hazel Rowcliff of Sandoval, IL, brothers: twin John (Linda) of Sandoval, IL, Wesley (Wilma) of Kankakee, IL, Howard (Mary) of Assumption, Francis (Marilyn) of Centralia, IL, Henry (Mary) of Sandoval,IL, Herman (Brenda) of Centralia, IL, Clifford (Dana) of Centralia, IL, William (Candy) of Puxico, MO, sisters; Helen Hull of Sandoval, IL, Christine (John) Johnson of Puxico, MO, Wilma Ward of Louisville, IL and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his father, two brothers and five sisters.
