Jackie "Jack"
L. Bilyeu
Nov 14, 1938 — May 22, 2024
Panorama City
Jackie, "Jack" L. Bilyeu, 85, of Panorama City, California, formerly of Moweaqua, IL, died May 22, 2024 in Kaiser Permanente Panorama City Medical.
Jack was born November 14, 1938, in the Moweaqua Hospital. He was the first child born to Lyle D. and Virginia (Robinson) Bilyeu.
Jack contracted polio while in high school, and after much therapy and determination, he gradually began to walk again. He graduated with the class of 1956, and became a barber. His love for customized cars and moderate weather drew him to California, where he remained for more than 50 years. He continued to barber as long as his leg would permit him to stand. Even with polio and other disappointments in life, he maintained a sense of humor that we have all missed during those years.
Surviving are his daughters Dawnn Stone and Megyn Nagy; step-daughter Randi Rivera; sister, LaMeeka "Mickey" (Lynn) English; sister-in-law Caroline Bilyeu, a large extended family; caregiver and loving dear friend, Sandra.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Thomas Lyle Bilyeu.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2024 at Bilyeu Cemetery with his nephew, Rev. David Bilyeu, officiating.
