DATELINE: ASSUMPTION

Jack L. Lewellyn, 70, of Assumption died on Sunday, December 1, 2013, while doing the thing he enjoyed most – golfing. Jack was born November 9, 1943 in Assumption, the son of Levi and Edith (Hicks) Lewellyn. He graduated from Assumption High School with the class of 1961 and spent 4 years in the United States Air Force. He married Brenda Blosser on December 1, 1968 in Assumption. Jack was employed for over 30 years and retired from the accounting department of Grain Systems, Inc.

Jack leaves behind his loving wife, one daughter, Cassandra DeClerck of Assumption and one son, Lonny Lewellyn and wife Ann of Macon. He leaves behind three grandchildren, Dylan DeClerck, Logan Lewellyn and Delaney Lewellyn. Jack is also survived by sisters, Joy Davis, Linda (Mick) Ruff and Donna (Dick) Royer of Assumption, Jeanette (John) Franklin of Decatur and Connie (Don) Adams of Taylorville. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Wednesday, December 4, 2013 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption.

Private Graveside service will be at a later date.

Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
