Ira "Rod"
Rodell Traughber
Dec 20, 1943 — Feb 19, 2025
Warrensburg
Ira "Rod" Rodell Traughber, 81, of Warrensburg, peacefully passed away and met his Lord and Savior on February 19, 2025. Rod was an extremely devoted husband, father, and grandpa. His life will be remembered by his love of Christ and his legacy of faith.
Rod was born on December 20, 1943, in Moweaqua, IL, the son of Ira Blaine and Pauline (Dewhirst) Traughber. He married Elaine Brown on February 19, 1972. Their God-honoring marriage of 53 years was truly a blessing to everyone around them.
Rod excelled at his career as a senior insurance underwriter, but his real passion was his family. He enjoyed coaching his sons in various sports and attending many dance recitals for his daughters over the years. Rod always had a great sense of humor, and he had the ability to make everyone feel valued. He loved the Lord and was a member and elder at South Shores Christian Church for many years. He enjoyed rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals and Fighting Illini basketball, taking great care of their lawn and flower beds around the house, and visiting members of their church family.
Surviving are his wife, Elaine Traughber; sons: Shane (Joy) Traughber of Concordia, KS and Chase (Catherine) Traughber of Indianapolis, IN; daughters: Heidi (Tim) Buys of Sunnyvale, TX and Cally (Jack) Wilson of Moweaqua, IL; grandchildren: Coley, Tyson, Mabel, Daphne, Finley, Paisley, Mikky, and Eli; brothers: Arlie (Eileen) Traughber of Columbia, IL and Brian (Jan) Traughber of Decatur, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2025 in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua, IL, with a visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Old Stonington Cemetery, Stonington, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South Shores Christian Church, Decatur, IL or Little Galilee Christian Camp, Clinton, IL.
