Imogene "Jean" Frances Daley, 98, of Assumption, IL, died, August 1, 2026 in HSHS St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026 in Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption, IL.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Disabled American Veterans.

Jean was born on August 22, 1927 in Assumption, IL, the daughter of Sydney and Allie (Curry) Scribner.  She married Paul Edward Daley on November 7, 1947 in St. Louis, MO.  He preceded her in death on May 11, 2008.

Jean was an avid reader and loved spending time at the Assumption Public Library.

Surviving are her daughters: Vicky Metzger of Pana, IL, Paula (Steve) Wempen of Assumption, IL, and Karen Sue Fleener of Henderson, TN; grandchildren: Lisa Daley, Melvin Adrian, Lindy Maness, Joe Metzger, Brad Metzger, Jesse Adrian, and Dylan Wempen; as well as many great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her husband; parents; four sisters; son-in-law, Chet Metzger; step-son, Dennis Daley; and great-grandson, Benjamin Wempen.
