Helen W. Maxwell of Assumption, IL passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 in Mason Point in Sullivan, IL.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 9, 2017 at Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption, IL. Visitation will be from 5–7p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2017, also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Assumption. The family requests any memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Helen was born February 3, 1925 in Herrick, IL, the daughter of Ray and Sarah (Bennett) Whittington. She married Howard Maxwell in the First Baptist Church in Chicago on February 21, 1945. He preceded her on April 14, 1998.

Surviving her is a sister Ruth Lockart of Pana, IL; a son, William H. (Sue) Maxwell of Decatur, IL; granddaughters Andrea Christopher of Waterloo, IA, Sara (Mike) Kuhl of Long Grove, IA; grandsons Clint (Amy) Christopher of Victoria, MN, Alan (Amy) Maxwell of Suwanee, GA, and Bradley Maxwell of New Orleans, LA; 4 great-granddaughters; and 4 great-grandsons.

She was preceded by her husband, a daughter, Sandra Ingram, sisters Naomi Harrison, Viola Fuller, and a brother Russell Whittington.
