George Robert Rever, 90, of Assumption, died August 13, 2022 in Carriage Crossing, Taylorville, IL.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2022 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Assumption.  Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2022 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption, with a prayer service following at 7:00 p.m.  Burial, with full military honors, will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Assumption.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Land of Lincoln Honor Flight or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

George was born on September 22, 1931 in Assumption, IL, the son of Joseph and Mary (Blondiau) Rever.  He married Norma Schafer on December 29, 1956 in Assumption.  She survives.

George was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Assumption American Legion and Knights of Columbus of Assumption.  He was a lifelong farmer and served his country in the United States Army.  George and his daughter, Dee had the pleasure of participating in a 2019 Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.

Surviving are his wife, Norma; daughter, Dee (Phil) Kirby of Springfield, IL; former daughter-in-law, Schales Nagle of Taylorville, IL; grandchildren: Carrie (Brandan), Rachel (Jamey), Lauren (Eric), George Luke (MacKenzie), and Anna Lee; ten great-grandchildren; a niece and several nephews; and brother-in-law, Cletus Graden of Assumption, IL.

Preceding him in death  are his parents; son, James Robert Rever; one brother; and two sisters.
